This past weekend was full of fun fall activities and I thought that I would share a few things that we did.
Weekends tend to be pretty busy for us and we usually end up running errands, visiting with family or going out of town. Which I definitely do enjoy, but this weekend it was just the three of us at home and it felt really nice. We were able to get some house and yard projects accomplished and we were also able to spend some quality time with one another.
Late Saturday afternoon we walked over to Starbucks and then headed to a park that is near our house. They have a playground and some nice walking paths with bridges. It’s so nice to have access to so many parks in the Seattle area.

On Sunday we went to a pumpkin patch! My husband and I decided that we’ve done this together for the past five years and we actually have gone to the same place every time. We really like Craven Farm so if you’re local and in the area I highly recommend it. Going to Craven has become a tradition for us that is now so fun to share with our little one.
Normally the weather isn’t so great when we go to the pumpkin patch, but it was sunny and beautiful so we lucked out. However, that meant that everyone else had the same idea as us so it was a bit busy but definitely made the experience more exciting since everyone was so pumped about the pumpkins. 😉
This past weekend was special as we were able to spend Father’s Day with both sides of our family. My husband’s parents as well as my parents live on parts of Puget Sound so we were lucky enough to spend the weekend at the beach.
It’s still relatively cool around the Seattle area, especially near the water, so I opted for longer sleeves and jeans to stay warm and keep it casual for the weekend. I’m hoping we get some warmer weather here soon!
In the meantime, I’m enjoying this bright colored shirt. It’s from Aritzia which is one of my favorite stores. I just happened to walk into an Aritzia once in Whistler, Canada several years back and loved everything in the store. Unfortunately, back then there wasn’t an Aritzia in Seattle but in the past few years several have opened up in the Seattle area and I have been shopping there ever since. I like that they carry some unique brands that I haven’t been able to find in other US stores.
This top is on sale right now which doesn’t happen very often! The brand of the shirt is TNA and it’s one of my favorites. It definitely offers an edgier version of athleisure. I have several of these shirts in different colors and they are very soft and work well for layering.

Last night my husband and I celebrated our five-year wedding anniversary. We went downtown and snagged some happy hour drinks in Belltown, a popular neighborhood of Seattle, and then went to The Melting Pot for delicious and way too filling dinner. The food was all so good and I ate way too much!
We then drove up to Kerry Park and enjoyed the city views. I highly recommend stopping by Kerry Park if you’re ever in Seattle. It offers some of the best views of downtown and Elliott Bay. It was so special being able to go out without our baby and to spend some time together as just the two of us.
I wanted to share this outfit I wore last night with you, since this top is so fun and I love the bow details on the sleeves. The top can be easily worn as a casual piece with jeans or dressed up for a night out with a skirt and wedges. I hope you have a great weekend!

We have been back from Hawaii for a week now and I have to say I really miss the sun and the palm trees. It was beautiful there and was so wonderful to spend the days lounging at the beaches and pools. We had such a nice time relaxing and exploring the big island. The picture above was from a short little hike my husband and I took to these lava cliffs that look out over the Pacific Ocean. There was really high surf that day as well so we got to see lots of waves crashing up onto the lava rocks.
Being on vacation had me missing some of my favorite beauty products. I had to be selective with my packing this trip, as I was sharing my suitcase with my six month old :). So I had to leave a few things behind. I always love reading what products and items other bloggers love so I thought that I would share a few of my current favorites. I’m hoping to continue this on as a series, but for this first time I’m going to share a few of my top beauty products and how they have been working for me.
Coconut Oil – Up until the past few months I used all sorts of random face cleansers and serums to wash my face at night. I never really had a favorite and kept switching to different products because I couldn’t settle on one that I love. But now all I use is coconut oil and it literally is the best change I have ever made! I am so serious, my skin is clearer that it has even been before and I love how natural the oil is. All I do is splash water on my face (even with a full face of makeup), rub about a teaspoon of coconut oil all over my face and wash it off with a wash cloth. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Dr. Jart+ BB Cream – A few years ago I received a sample of the Dr. Jart+ BB cream in a Birchbox and fell in love with it! It’s the best BB cream I have used and is a great alternative to foundation if I’m looking for lighter coverage. Also, it is SPF 45 which is a nice bonus.
Burt’s Bees Lipstick – Until recently I really haven’t worn much in regards to lipstick, but after I received some Burt’s Bees Lipstick for Christmas from my husband I have been converted. I’ve used their chapstick for years and was excited to try out their lipstick. I like how the color goes on smoothly and isn’t too bright and showy. The lipsticks are natural so if you like natural products these are a great option. The only downside I would say is that the lipstick does need to be reapplied after a couple of hours for me. Although their website touts eight hour moisture so for some maybe the coverage lasts longer.
Sonia Kashuk Nail Polish– I love nail polish and have too many bottles of it to count. However, after trying all sorts of brands from OPI to Essie to Covergirl I have found that Sonia Kashuk Nail Polish is the best. I love the thickness of the polish and how it’s not on the higher end of pricing for nail polishes. It also lasts on my nails for several days. It’s sold at Target and comes in tons of trendy and classic colors.
What are your favorite beauty products? I’d love to hear about them, please share in the comments below!
Finally a new fashion post! Summer has flown by and while I love the Fall season I’m really going to miss the heat. However, I am excited for all things pumpkin and to put up some Autumn themed decor in the house.
Last weekend one of my best friends from college and I went shopping and we saw this jacket and immediately knew we had to have it. Both of us ended up falling in love with this military inspired jacket.
This jacket has been on repeat for the past couple of days. It’s really the perfect transitional Fall jacket. I wore this jacket for an impromptu date night at Greenlake and just had to snap a few pictures to share.
